Context:
The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of 17 goals with 169 targets that all 193 UN member states have agreed to try to achieve by 2030. SDGs are a matter of urgency, and actions by all countries, both developed and developing, to end poverty and other socio-economic and environmental problems should align with strategies that improve the standard of life and education, reduce inequality, and harness economic growth.

1. United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, are a set of 17 interconnected goals adopted by United Nations member states in September 2015. These goals are designed to address a wide range of global challenges, including poverty, inequality, environmental degradation, peace, and justice. The SDGs provide a universal framework for countries, organizations, and individuals to work together to achieve a more sustainable and equitable world by 2030.

  10. Reduced Inequality (SDG 10): Reduce inequality within and among countries.

  11. Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11): Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable.

  12. Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12): Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.

  13. Climate Action (SDG 13): Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.

  14. Life Below Water (SDG 14): Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas, and marine resources for sustainable development.

  15. Life on Land (SDG 15): Protect, restore, and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss.

  16. Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions (SDG 16): Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all, and build effective, accountable, and inclusive institutions at all levels.

  17. Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17): Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.

2. National Education Policy (NEP) 2020

The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 is an ambitious and comprehensive policy framework for the reform and development of education in India. It was approved by the Government of India on July 29, 2020, and represents the first major update to India's education policy since 1986. The NEP 2020 seeks to address several key issues and challenges in the Indian education system and aims to transform it to meet the needs of the 21st century. 3. National Education Policy 2020 and SDGSs

The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 of India aligns with several of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to education and human development.
