Indian Railway Management service (IRMS) has taken a paradigm shift in the management of one of the biggest rail networks of the World.
8 out of 10 Group- A posts have been merged to create IRMS, ythe folowing Group A services have been merged
- Indian railway Traffic Service(IRTS)
- Indian railway personnel service (IRPS)
- Indian railway Accounts service (IRAS)
- Indian railway services of Electric Engineers (IRSEE)
- Indian railway service of signal engineers (IRSS)
- Indian railway service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME)
- Indian railway service Civil engineers (IRSCE)
- Indian railway stores service (IRSS)
Recruitment:
A nearly 8,000 strong cadre of the erstwhile eight services is now merged into one.
Recruitment process happens through Union Public service Commission (UPSC)
About four lakh members will apply for this Notification
Revamped Training
The IRMS training needs to be a design based on competencies required for different leadership roles.
The integrated Governmenet online training (iGOT) programme of India will be instrumental in shaping the career progression of IRMS officers
